Raw Vegan Glasgow

Glasgow is full of fried and fattening things and known for unhealthy living, but you might be surprised to know there’s a raw vegan revolution going on this dear green place.

This city has never been greener, with health food fans enjoying juicing, morning smoothies, clean cakes and feasts of fruit. We love a cake and a cocktail but ooh baby we like it raw. Here are some of the healthy heroes leading the way.

Glasgow’s first cold-pressed juice company came to the rescue with juice cleanses to cure us and I must admit Juice Warrior‘s delicious drinks have been a welcome hangover helper on a couple of occasions. Full of the good stuff, these clever concoctions have many benefits. This local favourite can be found at the Vegan Fete, Martha’s and they’re also expanding into Edinburgh.

How about an indulgent dessert that tastes as good as it looks? Laurianne’s Raw Cakes are wee works of art, with carefully crafted cashews and clean ingredients going into every one. Raw, vegan, gluten-free, guilt-free and full of flavour, these cakey creations are delicious. The lemon berry nocheesecake was the most cheesecake-like one I’ve tried since going vegan. Decadent desserts with nothing nasty, available to order and you can also get them at The Flying Duck‘s Vegan Fete.

Juice Garden is a healthy haven and one of the few places in town you can get an entirely raw vegan meal. They have a selection of smoothies, juices, raw snacks, treats and chocolate to indulge in with a clean conscience. Their cake-maker is a talented lady and creates cracking caramel that can more than rival the real stuff. You can visit Juice Garden in the centre or west end of the city and they also deliver goodness direct to your door.

These are just a few of the raw vegan options in town and I’m sure it’s just the beginning. Let’s keep Glasgow green and enjoy the rawvolution.
